Mario Barragan serves as a Board Member and is an External and Legislative Affairs leader with AT&T Services, Inc., where he works to strengthen relationships between the company, public officials, and the communities it serves. As a General Manager, his efforts focus on improving the social fabric of communities and advancing initiatives that support long-term opportunity and inclusion. His strong commitment to public and civic engagement aligns with RGV LEAD’s mission of connecting people to greater possibilities.

With more than 15 years of experience, Mario is an MBA-trained senior leader specializing in public and government affairs, sales, operations, contact center management, marketing, and new sales channel development. He has a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with city, county, and state government partners while consistently exceeding sales targets and key performance metrics.

Throughout his career, Mario has demonstrated excellence in relationship management, strategic planning, problem solving, and process improvement. He has led both large and small teams, crafted effective external messaging and campaign strategies, and driven innovation through continuous improvement and collaboration. His expertise includes government and public affairs, contract negotiations, budget and forecasting management, and working with vendors, customers, and elected officials at all levels.

Mario is bilingual in English and Spanish and is recognized for his leadership in telecommunications, customer experience improvement, and operational performance. His accomplishments include leading high-performing teams, launching innovative contact center initiatives, achieving top national sales rankings, and delivering significant improvements in customer satisfaction and efficiency.
