Frank Laborde

Laborde & Associates PC, Treasurer

Frank Laborde, a lifelong Southside native, began working in his father’s Southeast pharmacy at age nine, instilling an early appreciation for family business and community. After graduating from Central Catholic in 1979, Frank discovered his aptitude for numbers while studying accounting at San Antonio College. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Business Data Systems from UTSA in 1984 and was a founding member of the Beta Alpha Psi Honors Organization.

After starting his career at a traditional accounting firm, Frank recognized the profession’s shift toward computer-based systems and boldly opened his own bilingual CPA firm in 1988. In 2001, he returned to his roots by relocating the firm to San Antonio’s Southside, an area long underserved by financial professionals. Today, Laborde & Associates is recognized as a pioneer in the revitalization of Southtown and the Lone Star District, operating out of the restored 1870s Palace Meat Market, while Frank and his wife also restored the historic 1910 Botica de las Flores building as their home.

Frank’s leadership and commitment to clients and community have earned him numerous honors, including “Legend of the Southside” from the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce in 2017. He has served on multiple civic, educational, and nonprofit boards, chaired the South San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, and leads the Laborde Family Memorial Foundation, which has awarded over $150,000 in scholarships supporting Catholic education.

With more than 35 years in business, Frank is most proud of serving his community. He and his wife, Norma, have three children and one grandchild.
